Grand Opening Includes 5-Day Fundraiser For Make-A-Wish^® Canada

NORTH YORK, Ont., Oct. 23, 2024 – Redberry Restaurants (“Redberry”) will open the second Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Jersey Mike’s Subs at 808 York Mills Road in North York on Wednesday, Oct. 23, giving Canadian sub lovers the chance to enjoy the authentic fresh sliced/fresh grilled sub sandwiches offered by the iconic brand.

Redberry opened the first of 300 Jersey Mike’s restaurants it is bringing to Canada in Markham, Ont., in August.

To celebrate, Redberry will hold a grand opening and fundraiser from Wednesday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 27, to support Make-A-Wish Canada. Customers who receive a special fundraising coupon distributed through a grassroots effort prior to the opening can make a minimum $3 contribution to Make-A-Wish Canada in exchange for a regular sub. Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.

Customers without a coupon will have a limited-time opportunity to download the Jersey Mike’s app and earn a free regular sub after their first in-app sub purchase and will also be able to support Make-A-Wish Canada via a donation box near the register. The first 100 guests at the grand opening will receive a Jersey Mike’s Drawstring Sports Pack.

The Markham and York Mills openings are the first of six initial new Jersey Mike’s locations in development in Ontario, forming the foundation for rapid new store growth. By the end of the year, Redberry will open in Toronto’s Union Station as well as Brantford, Guelph and Pickering. These six locations will employ nearly 100 crew members. Redberry also owns two existing and recently remodeled Jersey Mike’s locations in Kitchener and London.

Making a Difference

Jersey Mike’s has had an on-going partnership with Make-A-Wish Canada. The Markham Jersey Mike’s raised $3,256 for the charity during its grand opening at the end of August. In March 2024, the Kitchener and London locations raised $12,000 for Make-A-Wish during Jersey Mike’s Month of Giving.

Over the last year, over 700 wishes were granted in Ontario with 463 wishes granted in Toronto and Central Ontario. However, there are still 136 children waiting for their wishes to be granted in Toronto and North York.

Fresh Sliced/Fresh Grilled

Jersey Mike’s premium meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot and piled high on the in-store baked bread. Jersey Mike’s fans crave their subs made Mike’s Way® with the freshest vegetables – onions, lettuce and tomatoes –along with an exquisite zing of “the juice,” red wine vinegar and an olive oil blend, topped off with our signature spices. Authentic cheesesteaks are also grilled fresh to order.

The restaurant’s hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. You can place orders in-store, on the Jersey Mike's app, online at www.jerseymikes.ca, and on the national delivery apps. Catering orders are also welcome.
